From an early age, Erich Bösl discovered his love for animals. Through successful racing pigeon breeding and Dachshunds, he eventually came to the German Shepherd Dog. In 1976, he purchased his first German Shepherd, "Kim von der Naabtalperle."

After training and presenting dogs from well-known breeders for several years, he decided in December 1978 to breed his own dogs under the kennel name "von der Piste Trophe." The name comes from Ancient Greek and means "from the reliable kennel."

As early as 1980, he achieved his first major success by winning the Bavarian North Regional Group title in the youth class with his bitch "Jesse von der Wienerau." In 1990, he presented his breeding group for the first time at a Sieger Show.

Erich Bösl achieved his greatest breeding success in the years 2017, 2018, and 2019, when he won the breeding group competition three times in a row. Further successes included winning the junior class at the Federal Sieger Breeding Show in 1999 in Karlsruhe with his bitch "Enschi von der Piste Trophe," who received the rating Excellent Select 3 in Düsseldorf in 2001. He was equally successful with the bitch "Oililly von der Piste Trophe," who became the winner of the working dog class with the rating Excellent Select 1 in Nuremberg in 2016.

Other dogs from his kennel that were rated "Excellent Select" include "Wendy von der Piste Trophe," "Finn von der Piste Trophe," "Queen von der Piste Trophe," and "Inaya von der Piste Trophe."

Erich Bösl passed the breed judge examination in 1993 and has since served in this role in many countries around the world. In 1999, he was appointed Körmeister (breed survey master). The highlight of his judging career was certainly his appointment as judge of the youth male class at the Sieger Main Breeding Show in Bremen in 2000. He was further appointed by the board of the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde five more times as a Sieger Show judge in the years 2010, 2015, 2019, 2020, and 2024.

Through continuous work, Erich Bösl was able to achieve these numerous successes, which were only possible thanks to the support of his family and his "Piste Trophe" team.

His German Shepherd Dogs "von der Piste Trophe" are highly valued by dog enthusiasts both at home and abroad.
